A bevy of celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Kriti Sanon, Tiger Shroff, Disha Patani and Ayushmann Khurrana among others attended the screening of Judwaa 2 at PVR Juhu last night.

Goes without saying the cast – Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu were delighted with the support of industrywallahs.

However, what grabbed numerous eyeballs was Alia Bhatt and Jacqueline’s encounter and Sidharth Malhotra’s absence from the screening considering the actor and Jacqueline are 'good friends'.

An eyewitness present at the venue told SpotboyE.com, “Varun and Jacqueline were standing side by side as they met the attendees. When Alia came in, she hugged Varun and wished him all the best. She then moved on to Jacqueline and the duo was all smiles in each other’s company. There was absolutely no awkwardness between the two ladies.”

“Even while leaving, Alia made it a point to hug both Varun and Jacqueline and congratulated them for their performance,” adds the eyewitness.

In fact, Alia took to Twitter to applaud Team Judwaa 2.

In a couple of tweets she wrote, “#Judwaa2 is everything you imagine it to be and MORE!!! Fun, entertaining, adorable and aptly nostalgic!!@Varun_dvn you are sooooo good!!! (sic).”

The second tweet read, “And adding to the madness@Asli_Jacqueline and @taapsee totally win you over. This ones going to be hugeeeee!!!! ”

Coming back to Sidharth, did the actor prefer staying away to avoid another uncomfortable situation with Alia around? (A day before yesterday, the former lovers were rather edgy around each other at Ranbir Kapoor’s birthday bash)  Well, your guess is as good as ours.
